How does the system handle excluded tariffs?

Some tariff measures may be present in the system but determined to be not applicable to a specific product based on its HTS code or other characteristics. These are displayed in an Excluded Tariffs section on the tariff page, rather than being omitted silently.

This section tells you:

• Which tariff measure is excluded
• Why it does not apply to this product

If you believe a particular measure does apply - for example, because the product qualifies under a specific provision that is not apparent from the HTS code alone - you can manually select the applicable measure. The platform will then recalculate the tariff total and, where relevant, apply the appropriate exclusion code logic.
